AmEx Upgrades SafeKey 2.3 Security

American Express has announced that it is introducing SafeKey® EMV® 3-D Secure 2.3 capabilities in order to increase Card Member and Merchant protection.

The fact that American Express is the first network to switch to SafeKey 2.3 highlights their dedication to offering a secure checkout process. American Express is providing improved security for headless devices and game console purchases with SafeKey 2.3. Additionally, American Express is streamlining the authentication process across Merchants by introducing Secure Payment Confirmation, a Web API that adds more biometric support to SafeKey.

The company said that these security features significantly reduce the possibility of fraudsters duping Card Members into disclosing One Time Passcodes.
