Bakkt terminates the consumer app

Bakkt, a digital asset market platform, is retiring its consumer app in favor of concentrating on its business-to-business-to-consumer offering. Next month, the Bakkt app will be shut down, forcing users to access their cryptocurrency and money online.

Users will still have access to crypto transaction reports and balances for tax purposes. The company is now concentrating solely on offering businesses SaaS and API offerings that enable businesses to offer their customers cryptocurrency and loyalty experiences.

Bakkt and Apex Crypto, a turnkey platform for integrated crypto trading that offers services to signed FinTech partners, struck a deal in November.
