The Bank for International Settlements invites market participants to join a panel working on standardizing API protocols for international payments.
The Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) of the BIS is seeking nominations for API specialists to join the panel from cross-border payment service providers, financial infrastructures, business associations, and central banks. The action was taken in response to the G20 cross-border payments program, which has seen the problem emerge as a major global concern in recent years.
About 20 people will make up the new panel, which will assess proposals for API standards in cross-border payment information exchange.
