BMO introduces a smartphone wallet for virtual cards

For clients to have the ability to create and push virtual cards to the mobile wallets of their employees, BMO Commercial Bank has partnered with MasterCard and Extend.

Through its jointly branded Extend for BMO app, the bank is the first global MasterCard issuer to provide contactless virtual cards. Online, in-app, and in-store payments can be made more easily by corporate card clients by using virtual cards that can be created, sent, and managed.

“People expect to be able to make payments on the go, even when those payments are for business expenses,” says Andrew Jamison, CEO of Extend. “We have made the final step towards widespread adoption by allowing virtual cards in mobile wallets.”
