Delta Capita acquires SETL capital markets business

Delta Capita is setting up a distributed ledger venture, acquiring the capital markets business of blockchain firm SETL, and signing up Montis Group as an anchor client and minority investor.

Using blockchain technology, Montis, a division of Archax, is creating a central securities depository service that can handle the settlement of tokenized assets in debt and equity markets. The CSD infrastructure is planned to go live in Q4 and will be available to issuers, exchanges, other trading venues, and market participants around the world. It is designed to be blockchain agnostic.

It was a component of a partnership between the French fund management platform IZNES and the distributed ledger technology (DLT)-based central securities depositary ID2S to establish a post-trade structure.
