Trustly acquires SlimPay

Trustly, a Swedish open banking and payments company, has reportedly acquired SlimPay, an A2A-based recurring payments platform, in a deal valued at approximately EUR 70 million.

Adding to Trustly’s existing Direct Debit capabilities in the UK and Sweden, which were obtained through the acquisition of open banking vendor Ecospend last year, the combination will offer a pan-European recurring payments service for businesses and customers throughout the continent, including those in Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.

Over EUR 10 trillion in Direct Debits were collected in Europe in 2022, with 80% of these transactions taking place in markets where Trustly and SlimPay have combined operations.
