In its ongoing battle to defend its remote deposit capture patents, online military bank USAA has won another battle after reaching a licensing agreement with Discover Financial Services.

A deal between the companies allows Discover to obtain a license for more than 130 USAA patents relating to technology that enables cheque deposits through mobile devices. The agreement’s terms weren’t made public.

“We look forward to working with more banks to create fair licensing agreements that benefit their customers,” says Nathan McKinley, head of corporate development.
