According to reports, a number of companies are vying to acquire the Brazilian payment and banking platform Pismo, including payments behemoths Visa and MasterCard.

According to news reports, the company is collaborating with Goldman Sachs on a potential sale with a USD 1 billion reported valuation. According to sources cited by Bloomberg, a bank and a private equity firm are among the other interested parties, and the talks may not result in a sale. After Pismo rejected Visa’s initial USD 1 billion offer, the company increased its offer to USD 1.4 billion, according to Valor Economico’s Pipeline.

To expand its operations throughout Asia, Prismo raised USD 108 million in a Series B funding round from Amazon, SoftBank, and Accel in October 2021.
